Read Origins and Omens for Free

on the DC website . They have the story I worked on along with the other short stories of the Origins and Omens line. Also I'd like to take this moment to plug my site www.francismanapul.com . It's now up and running there's still a few things I have to put up there but just thought I'd throw this out there.

Superman Batman Cover

Here is the finished cover to Superman Batman #60
looks like it's also on the stands a lot sooner than I thought! Release date is May 20th! The piece was inked with #2 brush with ink wash, watercolor and gouache and white ink for some of the highlights. Awesome colors provided by Brian Buccellato.

Origins and Omens pg 6 process

ok so it looks like almost everyone is caught up now on the big reveal at the end of Origins and Omens in Adventure Comics #0. If not don't scroll down. :-)


So here's the process work that went into the last page. Pencils with a .05 mechanical pencil with HB lead. Inks with #2 and #3 brush. and some .03 tech pen action here and there. Washes were done with ink and water colour.

Adventure Comics #1

Looks like it was officially announced today at the New York Comic Con that Geoff Johns and I, along with Brian Buccellato on colours will be the creative team on Adventure Comics beginning this June. Bad Ass Inks

I got these in my inbox today from Livesay. Even though I'm currently tackling inks and washes on my own I still miss working with Liv. His attention to detail is just insane everytime I got Legion pages back from him there is so much more to see on the original that wasn't printed, so many intricacies in his line work that is totally lost unless you're one of the lucky few to see it full size. Whenever I come to my senses and go back to traditional pencils I know who the first call I'll make to!

Origins and Omens in Adventure Comics #0

I worked on the said back up in Adventure Comics #0 which will be out this week! I wished I could show more but it's very spoilerific so this will have to be it until the book is out. And with a $1 cover price you can't go wrong!
